Main Features
This is a high strength quenched and tempered carbon steel, it has high strength, elasticity and abrasion resistance, while also higher hardenability, quenching in oil the critical diameter of 10 ~ 28mm, the critical quenching in water diameter 24 ~ 49mm, machinability fair. After this steel quenched and high mechanical properties can be obtained, but the sensitivity of overheating during heat treatment and tempering brittleness, water quenching, also have a tendency to crack, and the white spot sensitive, poor welding, cold plastic deformation is low.
Application examples
This steel is usually used after the conditioning, for the manufacture of high stress and wear to work under conditions of parts, manufacturing parts when the diameter of 80mm below the performance and 45Cr steel is similar; also available on the use of normalizing and high-temperature tempering, for the manufacture of medium load, cross-sectional size of the larger parts. For example: Heavy machinery used as the main shaft bearings, shaft and large gear; cars drive on the spline shaft and the spindle to withstand shock loading; general machinery for gear, worm gear shaft, crankshaft, connecting rod and so on. In addition, this steel can also be used to make paper plate spring and flat spring and so on.
