Duplex stainless steel 2507 is a ferritic-austenitic (duplex) stainless steel that combines the most beneficial properties of many ferritic and austenitic steels. Due to the high chromium and molybdenum content of the steel, it has a very high Good resistance to pitting corrosion, crevice corrosion and uniform corrosion. The two-phase microstructure ensures that the steel has high resistance to stress corrosion cracking and high mechanical strength.
Duplex stainless steel 2507 stainless steel used in the oil and gas industry; offshore stone breaking oil platform (heat exchanger tubes, water treatment and water supply systems, fire protection systems, water spray systems, water stabilization systems; petrochemical equipment; desalination (fading) equipment (and equipment) High-pressure pipe, seawater pipe); mechanical and structural components requiring high strength and high corrosion resistance; combustion (waste) gas purification equipment.
General corrosion
The higher chromium and molybdenum content of SAF 2507 gives it a strong resistance to organic corrosion to organic acids such as formic acid, acetic acid, etc. SAF 2507 alloys are also strong against inorganic acids, especially those containing chlorides. Corrosion resistance.
Compared with 904L, SAF2507 has stronger corrosion resistance to diluted sulfuric acid mixed with chloride ions. 904L is an austenitic alloy designed to resist pure sulfuric acid corrosion.
316L grade can not be used in hydrochloric acid environment, it may be subject to local corrosion or overall corrosion. SAF2507 can be used in diluted hydrochloric acid environment, with strong resistance to plaque damage and crevice corrosion resistance.
Intergranular corrosion
The lower carbon content of SAF 2507 greatly reduces the risk of carbide precipitation in the intergranular heat treatment. Therefore, this alloy has a strong resistance to carbide-related intergranular corrosion.
Stress corrosion cracking
The duplex structure of SAF 2507 gives it a strong resistance to stress corrosion cracking. Due to its high alloy content, SAF 2507 has better corrosion resistance and strength than 2205.
Cracks are almost inevitable in terms of construction, etc., which makes stainless steel more susceptible to corrosion in chloride environments. SAF 2507 has strong resistance to crack corrosion. SAF 2507 isotropic corrosion curve in sulfuric acid containing 2000 ppm chloride ion 0.1 mm/year; isocratic curve in hydrochloric acid 0.1 mm/year.
Mechanical properties: SAF 2507 has high compressive strength, impact strength and low coefficient of thermal expansion and high thermal conductivity. These characteristics are suitable for many structural parts and mechanical parts. SAF 2507 has high impact strength and should not be placed for a long time. Above 570 temperature, this may weaken its toughness. |
